An oil painting that is amazingly simple in composition and subject, but hauntingly riveting in execution: Chiaroscuro III by ~valkenburg. The title, Chiaroscuro, refers to the strong lighting contrasts used in the painting. Caravaggio is well known for his genius with this painting technique.
